Imam Mahdi and the Return of Masih Isa (Jesus Christ) in a Manuscript by Melitos, Bishop of Sardis

This is a letter in Syriac attributed to “Melitos of Sardis,” who was called the Philosopher and was one of the most brilliant ancient writers who belonged to the Church of Asia Minor. He has a letter in defense of the true religion against polytheism, idol worship, and incorrect opinions attributed to the Magi. He has another lost letter that was found in the National Library in Istanbul. It is very worn out, but it contains clear prophecies of the end times, which reads as follows:

There will come the day of the grinding war between those who worship the One God and idol worshipers, and the Lord does not like the worshiper of idols, whether it is an idol or a king. And Christ warned that the Lord will be angry with those who gather armies and soldiers and ignite the great fire to devour the honest man who worships God, whose name is as the name of the famous prophet of praise in all the heavens, and who is trustworthy even over a grain of sand.

And Christ, the Mighty in God, said that many vehicles carrying the enemies of God will come as birds of the sky from all directions, for their hearts will be hardened by the call of the liar who owns the small city that rules the big cities and who will claim that Christ is the Son of God. And Christ is truly the Son of God, as you are the sons of God, with love and prostration to God and with hearts that do not sin.

And Christ said God will send a wind that will break all vehicles, and the faithful worshiper of God will be given the hidden Gospel, and God will open the seal of the Gospel to him, but light shines not in the dark hearts that do not know the glory of God.

Mountains will shake from under dozens of armies who will fill all the plains and highlands of Megiddo to invade the city of the sanctuary of God, and the sky will roar loudly, and the bows of the oppressors will be broken, and God will burn all the vehicles with fire. And the angels of God will call out, "So you may know that it is the power of God, the Exalted among the nations, the Exalted in the earth and the heavens, whose soldiers cannot be defeated."

And the soldiers will be led as sheep to the altar and the abyss, and terror and earthquakes will strike them, and the earth will be crushed and cracked. On that day, the earth will sway like a drunk, the moon will turn red, and the stars will be eclipsed; there will be countless deaths, and because of the smoke and dust, that day will be dark as night, and then the night will come upon the enemies of God with death and destruction. And Christ preached that the righteous worshiper of God will meet him, and they shall be together in one army against the great liar who will spread lies in the world.

And that Christ and the righteous worshiper will subdue the liar, so that all nations may glorify God. And Christ said, Blessed be the glory of the Lord, and that all that God willed will happen, And Christ said that the righteous worshiper will give him the sword of victory and the spear to kill the false prophet (Antichrist), as a gift from the chosen benign man of God in the heavens and the whole earth, whom the Lord loves more than all his creation since the heavens and the earth were created, and whoever obeys God's chosen one, God will love him and sanctify his name, and in him are the hidden treasures of wisdom and knowledge, and he has a book which in it are all the books, And his son has the pillars of knowledge and he is lovable, kind , patient, humble, and does not like the opressors.

I told you: By Christ's command, may your hearts be established blameless in holiness before God when Christ will come again in a time of immorality and lust that will fill the world, and the righteous worshiper will come before him to manifest the glory of God and purify mankind from sins.
