The Messenger Muhammad's Prophecy in the Mandaean Book of John The Baptist
This passage is from the Sabaean Mandaean Book of John (Yahya Alayhi Alsalam):
When John spoke these words, Yaqīf, Binyamin, and Miryāʾī addressed him in Jerusalem and said to John:
"We adjure you, John, by the Great Living God to whom you bow down.
We adjure you, John, by the Redeemer Habshaba and by his birth day and honorable name.
Since when do the sons of the faithful true believers depart to the
Hereafter, without reading the utterances of the Great Living God in this
world?
How could it be that the prayers of ascension be performed, and yet fail to bring forth the halo of light for the departed?
Since when the Living Baptism — Maṣbuta Hiita — be performed, and yet not be received among the heavenly rites?"
When Yaqīf, Binyamin, and Miryāʾī had spoken this, John answered them in Jerusalem:
"There shall come a time when the disciples of John will be slain by the Children of Israel — of Jacob.
And after an age, Muḥammad the Arab shall be born from the descendants
of Ismaʿīl, and he will call the people to faith and to bow before the
Great Living God.
In the final portion of the Last Age, the number of the righteous faithful shall dwindle.
Stability and peace shall be withdrawn from the world.
The Mandaean houses of worship — Mashkhanī — shall grow fewer.
The rites of marriage and their celebrations shall change.
The rite of Baptism — Maṣbuta — shall change, and so too the rites of ascension — Masiqta.
The men shall sleep with their women during the days of childbirth and menstruation.
Evil, deceit, and corruption shall spread, and killing shall multiply throughout the world.
So I ask you, my chosen ones: do not commit deeds of evil, lest you descend into the Darkness.
Hold fast to our One Lord, the Singular, the Exalted King of the Sublime Light — praised be His name."
