Muhyiddin Ibn Arabi's Prophecies about Al-Mahdi and the End Times

Ibn Arabi says in his book Al-Futuhat Al-Makkiyya:

Allah will place a successor on earth who will bring peace and security, and will rule over all man near and distant. Allah made him the essence of existence and honored him with prostration. He is the pure soul and the wise imam. Even though he is a part of this world, he will be a unique caliphate and distinguished with the message. he will set the laws and be followed; He will conclude the contract,and he will be the trustworthy bearer of the covenant.


Behold the successor, the master of knowledge. Behold the station,the corner, and the sanctuary. He will rule over mankind, but his sovereignty is yet to come. When the calf and the idols are seen to the eyes,he will arrive to terrify those who seek to attain what the prophet Musa attained.


When the Jews unite with the Christians and fly with iron above the towers,and Al-Aqsa Mosque is stolen,and the women rule,and a fire blazes in the Gulf,and the rule in Hijaz goes to the infidels;the Arab capitals and the oil of the Gulf will be destroyed because of the Gulf War,and Yajuj and Majuj will wake up,and a sea of blood will be waving.Then the time for the one-eyed liar to emerge will come.


He calls to truth and answers the call.Remember what he says in his speech and what Allah has made in the past years. He will envision a revelation the likes of which the eye has never seen, and through which Allah calls to him days and nights. He hopes for a matter that he has always asked from Allah;it is a matter that no one has ever called upon Allah for. He is given life, and He gives life to whomever He wills through His words. That is why you will see him preaching in the prayer niches. Right hands will be extended to pledge allegiance to him. He is a servent, but he is a custodian.

Allah will entrust him with the command of the universe because he is the successor. He is sent down to earth as a servent, a guardian,a knowledgeable man of matters, and a shepherd, and he will break the idols of the soul with his determination.

He who appointed him calls him, saying: You are my successor over all; the Mahdi and the guide are your status.

The Seal of the Muhammadean Guardianship is the most knowledgeable of creation about Allah. There is no one in his time or after his time who is more knowledgeable about Allah and about the positions of judgment than him. He and the Qur’an are brothers. Just as the Seal of the Prophets was given comprehensive words, so the Seal of the custodians is the comprehensive one of the knowledge of every custodian.


The seal of guardianship is similar to Suleiman, the guardian of Allah, but there is no guardian of his status and character, and he is the most knowledgeable of creation about Allah, because he is the possessor of Allah’s greatest name, the hidden name that indicates the Supreme Essence and no one else, meaning he alone with no partner in this indication.


The Seal of the custodians is the one who encompasses the knowledge of every custodian, because he is like the vast earth of Allah, that is, he is the one who encompasses all of Allah’s names and attributes with their opposites, and with Him is their ultimate goal, and through His explanation of the language of Qur’an, and His comprehensiveness; he reveals all of those attributes and names from blindness, and from their treasure, that is, through the perfect manifestation of the truth in Him and His tongue, from the standpoint of His completeness as the seal of the custodians, and his explanation in the seen world, when he comes down in Alquds with the most complete circle of explanation with the most eloquent tongue. That is, the status of defining and explaining the truth of the divine Self, the attributes, and the actions. It is the status of the greatest manifestation of the Truth with its perfection, majesty,beauty,appearance and interior.


The weakness of the Arabs will be at its peak,and taxes will be imposed on them. Woe to the inhabitants of Hejaz under the rule of the cads who they claim to be good servants and fighters, but they are thieves of the key to attainment;their state will disintegrate, and Alquds will be stolen,and before the appearance of the Prince Imam,the Levant and its houses and Damascus will be destroyed. Imam Ali Radiya Allahu anhu was right when he said on the pulpit in Egypt:”At the endtimes, Damascus will be demolished,and the Jews and Christians will be cast out of the lands of the Arabs.”


And the owner of Musa’s staff will appear for justice;His knowledge is unparalleled, and his position is lofty.He behaves like Muhammad Sala Allahu alayhi Wasalam, and his soul is like Masih Isa’s, and he defeats Magic like Musa, and he has Jinn like Suleiman, and iron becomes soft for him like Dawud. His family is like the family of the prophet Ibrahim, and he interprets dreams like Yusuf, and he is the Fish of Yunus, and he is like Yehya, son of Zakariah. He is Al-Khidr of the ship, and he knows the science that we do not know, and he will prevail over the means, and Allah will bless him greatly and enrich his soul.


He is a young man who wears a cloak, and he will go forward when his men are ready, and the universe is filled with the knowledge of Satan, which is a vain knowledge, like one who desires sight without eyes. At that time wisdom will be seized and removed, and ignorance will spread and rise, so the Samaritan soul will be prepared to go out to enjoy the gardens and meadows, certain that he is the ruler of the towers.


Then a rift will occur within the souls, and the pillars of stability will crack, leaving only the pillar of the center to stand, and confusion will appear and the story of the chosen one will spread, so they will prepare gatherings for him and talk about him without knowing him or ask who he is, what his matter is, and if this is his arrival time? and many liars will emerge, all of them claiming to be the chosen Imam with similar characteristics and stature, but their true nature soon will be exposed, except for the chosen one, for he will be credited even by his enemies, and he will be the proof and the cure for the disease, and the path to the heavens.

The light of his knowledge manifests in his speech, and the patience of his self manifests in his peace. The common people and the elite will seek him after the hunter is dead and the cages are opened. His kingdom will be inevitable, and he will be the eye of the ship in the sea of the city’s gate.

He is the team unifier, the fire extinguisher,and soon he will catch up with his friend, he will come at the wrong time, and he will be put in the wrong place, so he will change reality and its basis; at his hands is victory and sovereignty, and his appointment will be the Asr prayer; he will be a falcon for the Arabs, and he will build the ruins, and his sign will be in Rajab; he will change the laws and establish Sharia, and he will be beloved even by his enemies.


And I was told that the sun of the West will rise, and that with him, Allah will wipe out polytheism and disobedience, and that Surat Al-Kahf will reveal their secrets with knowledge that will be revealed in the universe. From the house of the Messenger of Allah is the element of the sun of the west,just like the companion Salman, who was part of the house, and He was from the land of the West.

Ibn Arabi says in his book Al-Futuhat Al-Makkiyya: “Know, may Allah help us, that Allah has a Caliph who will emerge when the earth is filled with injustice and oppression, and he will fill it with justice and equity. Even if only one day remained of the world, Allah would lengthen that day until that caliph is out to rule, and he will be a descendant of the Messenger of Allah, Muhammad, Alayhi Salatu Wa Salam,from the descendants of Fatima.” He will witness the great epic that is called the banquet of Allah in the Meadow of Acre, and he will destroy the people of injustice, and he will establish the religion and breathe life into Islam. 

Islam will be glorified through him after its humiliation, and Islam will come back to life after its death. He will abolish the jizya and call to Allah with the sword, and whoever refuses his call will be killed, and whoever disputes with him will be let down. He will show of the religion as what it is in his self, and he will remove the sects from the earth, and nothing will remain but the pure religion. His enemies are the traditional jurists who practice ijtihad, because they will not accept his rulings that are contrary to those of their imams, but they will reluctantly submit to his rule out of fear of his sword and power and out of greed for what he owns.


The common Muslims will rejoice over his arrival and rule more than the elite, and the knowledgeable among the people of truth will pledge allegiance to him based on divine revelation from Allah. He will have godly men who establish his state and support him. They are his ministers, who will bear with him the burdens of the kingdom and assist him in what Allah has entrusted him with.

His martyrs are the best martyrs, and his trustees are the best of trustees, and Allah will appoint a group of ministers for him whom He has hidden for him in the hidden depths of His unseen. Allah will reveal to them the truth and make them its witnesses and teach them what to command his servants to do.


Allah’s successor will rule and decide by consulting them because they are knowledgeable and wise. As for the successor himself, he will have the sword of truth and master civil policy, and He will be taught by Allah the amount required for his status and position, because he is a guided caliph who understands even the language of animals,and his justice will be applied to humans and jinn through the secret knowledge of his ministers whom Allah will appoint for him, as Allah said, “For it is Our duty to help the believers.” And they are men from the Companions, who were true to what they pledged to Allah, and they are from the non-Arabs,and there will be no Arab among them, but they do not speak except Arabic, and they will have a guardian who is not of their kind and never disobeyed Allah; he will be the most special of ministers and the best of trustees.


“Rejoice, people of Egypt, with the sovereignty of that era, and the rule of the palace owner; he is the spring bringer, the dirt remover, the achiever of moments, the leader of epics, and the Euphrates crosser. The Kinana land will shake at his matter, due to the concealment of his persona and age, and the liars who are of no use will go out claiming honesty, and the miserliness of the misers will spread, and goodness and growth will be stopped, and the youth will wander around, and they will have no work or gain, and no creative or fertile thought.


Then the great leader of the last times and the most eminent of the people will rise up;his titles are many and his clothing is new. He will block the path of the enemies and remove the princes. His word will be heard and his jealousy will be painful. He will open the door of the unknown and sift through all the principles. He will reach the deep point and understand the secret of the path.


The smoke of sedition will rise, and the pressure of hardships will intensify, and the people of Egypt will tear apart, and every path will be closed to them. People will grow tired of life, and wish for death, not salvation. The future will be painted in black, and the meaning of help will be lost among them. Sadness will cover the universe, and no one will be hearing, and there will be no star shining, and tearful sadness will spread, but the distress will be relieved by the ancient man; he will be the leader of the restoration process, and the inner meaning of the letter “Mim”. Whoever fights him will be terrified; he is the enemy of vanity, and the bringer of pleasure.He will come out with the sword of wisdom called “Al-Hutama”, and he will raise it against the tyrants and conquer the letter “Ain”.


He is cast in Memphis the hollow land that will laugh when the boy comes to it;he is the inner scholar and the Imam of the mosque that has a door from which there is no return;his secret is in his silence and his goodness is in his piety, and to Allah belongs his command.His legs are thin, and his anger is violent. His mother is honorable, and his resolve is weak.The long waiting weakenes him, and he is a neighbor to the walls.His heart is merciful, and his solitude is sound.


He is raised among the evildoers under the eyes of the One Almighty. He sleeps in repentance, and his repentance is very sincere that it melts away the sun of the day, and his sin is simple like the smell of garlic in the people’s mosque. His affliction is severe and his patience is certain, and he is driven towards his fate against his will like someone who is shackled with iron. His name is one of the attributes of the Lord, and he takes one affliction after another but in the end he will overcome the difficulties by the guidance of He who guides the heart.

He speaks the truth, and you will scold him. He gets silent, then you will come to him, saying: O gentle and peaceful one. Where is the way? The night is very dark. After an earthquake that will destroy the people of injustice which no one knows the timing of it except Allah. On his body are signs and for him the veil will be lifted but he will not ascend high, and he knows the wisdom and the signs, and his tongue will be a sharp sword against the infidels, and his words are gentle and touch the heart. Allah is All-Seeing of His servants, and whoever claims what is not his right will be gathered with Pharaoh and Aad.

His signs are seen by the skeptics as magic, and he worries only about his grave. His companions are his deputies, and they will know him by his book. He will have no fixed place, and he will call upon Allah for His soul, and Allah will answer him, so his body and soul will join Allah, and that is the day his wounds will heal, and Allah will raise his status. The boy will awaken from his sleep and see his tomorrow in his dreams, and everything is by the command of Allah, the One, the All-Knowing.

Let the catapults of the Guardian destroy the disbelievers without mercy. The secret of the morning star is revealed to us, and its appearance will be at the appointed time. The throne of the One whose days are like the days of the Son of Maryam, will be shaken, and an army will line up to protect a treasure he seeks that is a peg for the Kinana. The Jewish Rabbi will stumble over when he sees the boy preparing his equipment.

In a matter of a year, he will appear to remove the darkness that befell the people, and the Levant will wishe for peace at the horrorible destruction of its people. And Iraq will become a spoil that is sucked by the cursed Romans who will expell the people from Iraq.

Yemen will be harboring fire, and their wound is their bandage. The seditions will come from the "Horn of Satan", a small country that will plot against the Arabs. As for Sudan, it contains a secret to faith,once he comes out he will bring happiness. Al-Quds will be stolen in the midst of this, and its conquest will be upon the recovery of the rule. These are the words of Ibn Arabi, and you will see them come true.

Since the seal of the custodian's soul is delicate, he has a method in his conduct, which is to believe the truth and deny illusion. Thus, a protection is born from his spirit and soul, which is a tangible sign, and through it the secrets are revealed. He is broad-minded, very humble, soft and seriousness. His words are numbered, and through coercion and gentleness he will prevail.

He has the knowledge of Dawud and the understanding of Suleiman, and his justice is like a balance. He is the secret of Saturn and the captain of the ship. He makes the unbeliever a coward, and he stands up and speaks in the situations. His life is full of tales, and he feels not fear. He is the protector of the custodianship house from afar, and he conceals the great secret from his family out of compassion for them until the day of Eid. He isolates himself alone in his own isthmus, and his thought is unique. His ambition is lofty, and his truthfulness is clear like Salih's camel. He will arrive at the appointed time and destroy the people of Ad over again.

And he will unite the people and conquer the villains with a wondrous sword. His description is strange and delving into it would drive the sane person crazy. He will appear after the fast in an ill-fated and ominous year, so Venus will begin and the shoulders of Gemini will rise, and good fortunee will settle in the skies. He has a sign in the purity of his speech. The nobles of Egypt will pledge allegiance to him, the righteous of Syria will support him, and a group from Iraq will assist him. Now, he is awaited and later he will arrive.

The seal-Imam has a clear forehead, a radiant face, a hooked nose, and beautiful front teeth, wide eyes and sharp vision, he looks calm but his thought is like the heigh waves of the ocean. His tongue is eloquent, and his explanation is clear, and his enemy is deceived. Sad is his family that shelters him, and Mars is the region of his upbringing, and on his face are beautiful features. his image is like the form of Hassan and the soul of Hussein.

He is Yasin the missing boy who has no father, no grandparents, and no companion, and he is misunderstood. He returns from his absence with a sign that will humble the necks of men, with a sword, and a lot of knowledge then will begin the war of Majdun. "Nun. By the pen and what everyone writes."

Know that the Seal-imam rides the boat and travels with travelers. He is the guardian of the truth, and all the guardians took their knowledge from him, although he will come after theme, and he is the peregrine falcon. He is the the chosen one who is sad for the sake of religion, and he is the apparent-trustworthy boy. In him is the second secret of Ahmadiyah, as the first faded away into the presence of Muhammad (Alayhi Salat wa Salam).One night I was overcome by a sleep, and my tongue was unable to speak in his presence, and then I envisioned the Seal of Imams and custodians. I saw him existing and not existing, witnessed and not witnessed, without taking from him the intended opposite matter.

He is the secret of being chosen, and his supporters are the noble, and he is Ahmad of Al-israa Journey. These words are my grave that my ink buried me in, and it is to bring it out. He is brilliant in his youth and he is very pure. He catches sight, and he is radiant in appearance. He is the falcon, and his origin is religion, and his enemies are subdued. He is the beloved at the time of his appearance, and you will all taste his joy.

When injustice fills the world, the falcon and the enemy of injustice will rise as a guard flying over the coasts of polytheism to destroy them, and feed the weak chicks, and secure them. He has a deep inner thinking and his goal is reconstruction, and he will be a prince to the Kinana.

And Yusuf will sit on the bed of Cairo the Ancient Fatimid Hashemite City, with the secrets of the falcon painting, its oil is luminous, and its glory is ancient, and its aggression is a burning fire. So reflect and pave the way, and if you are unable to explain, then soon he will come with his shirt of good tidings, and he will reveal your sorrows, and your Yakub will regain sight.

The ignorant will throw accusations at him, although he is the greatest blessing. How can someone who is ignorant of his matter and blind to the light of his moon know him? They will say he is bewitched, and others will say he is arrogant but he endures what they say in silence, fighting tribulation and remaining silent until the the trumpet sounds, and evil is destroyed, and wrath is spread, and people flee towards him and the eyes of the filthy weep.

And everyone will ask him, saying, “O gentle man, show us the way, for we are tired.” He says to them, “Allah, Allah.” Then their necks will be humiliated because they do not recognize Allah by means, and a voice will call from the sky, saying: “Most of you are liars, and the awaited one is so-and-so, son of so-and-so.” Then the people will rejoice and He will be heard.

The forces of evil will gather in Megiddo, below the house of the demon Haytalush, to plot the removal of kings and thrones, and Dajjal will take hold of the strings, thinking he has obtained the Ark, and he will prepare ignorantly to rule the kingdom. Then jealousy will appear in the jealous Imam, and the sky will be filled with the anger of the birds, and the names of Allah “al-Kahir” and “al-Ghafur” will be manifested, and the calamity will occur, and what a calamity it will be, and how difficult its consequences will be. Then John al-Shawamis will emerge. Someone asked, "Who is he?" It was said, "He is a man of immense strength and pure heart. His grandfather is the Lion of Bani Ghalib, Ali ibn Abi Talib. His strength is manifest, his environment is prosperous, and your joy in him is overwhelming. He will demolish the foundations of Dajjal, and the skies will obey him immediately."

And he is the Zurkum of ogers, who lived among the ogers, and they considered him one of them. If they had known his true nature, they would not have left him alone. He will obtain the hidden secret of what was in the book of wise Suleiman, then the news will spread among the jinn and the devils, and they will say, “We have returned either to faith or to humiliating punishment.” And if people knew His ancient, supreme kingdom, no one of sound mind would dispute Him. But reflect on the man who spoke to Allah and asked to see his Lord, so his place was shaken. Faith is purification, and its manifestation is soon.
